About Me

Connie
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
Well to start with I am a proud mom with a 15 year old son Mathew who is (like his name means)a Gift from God. I am truely Blessed to have a wonderful family close by. I have great friends and a Church that is a fantastic place to learn and grow in Christ Jesus!!!! I have been a scrap-a-holic (LOL) for the past 6 1/2 years and it's all because of my Sister-in-law Sandra. She was going to a scrapbooking crop at Paper Canvas Studios and asked if I would like to go (knowing that I love crafts) and that was the beginning of a new adventure of my life and it's been a learning and exciting hobby that I have developed into a big part of our lives.At first Mathew would tease me and call it Nerd-booking but when he started to do major projects for School, I saw a perfect opportunity to share with him what Scrapbooking can do for him and his assignments. Now in his opinion it's not so bad and every time he has a project we get out the Cricut, The Big Shot and the other Scrapbooking embellishments and we create the perfect project... Just ask me.

Fast and Easy Receipes (feel free to submit your favourite receipes)

"The Basic Shelf Ingredients for the Kitchen"

Store these ingredients in tightly sealed jars or plastic containers in a clean, dry, cool place. Save plastic containers from margarine and ice-cream for storing these ingredients in.
* all purpose flour
* canned beans, corn & peas
* whole wheat flour
* canned tomatoes
* salt and pepper
* canned tuna
* sugar
* canned fruit
* skim milk powder
* cooking oil (Canola)
* cornstarch
* margarine
* rice
* vinegar
* macaroni/pasta
* tomato paste
* rolled oats
* ketchup
* peanut butter
* dry mustard
* chicken bouillon cubes/powder
* beef bouillon cubes/powder
* garlic cloves
* cinnamon
* natural bran
* oregano
* onions
* basil
* potatoes
* thyme
* carrots
* chili powder
* dry beans, peas, lentils
* Worchestershire sauce
* lemon juice
You don't have to but everything at once. Divide up the list over a few weeks. Buy only the amounts that you know you have space for. Once you have a full Basic Shelf, keep it well stocked so you're not missing any important ingredients. Don't buy things you know that you wont use. Be open. Try new foods that you may never tried before like lentils and dry beans. Coffee cans lined with a plastic bag are also great for storing cereals and rice as well as keeping out small insects. Don't store foods under the sink where it is damp and sttractive to rodents or other creatures. Instead, store your foods in high places or on counter tops. Food can be stored in other rooms if you don't have enough room in the kitchen, like putting a box of food under the bed or in the closet.

No Fail Baked Macaroni Casserole

1 small onion, chopped
1 - 375 ml uncooked elbow macaroni
1 1/2 cup - 250 ml cheddar cheese, cubed
1 cup - 250 ml water
1 cup - 5 ml salt
1 tsp pepper to taste
-
1 - can diced tomatoes (28 oz / 796 ml)
1 cup - 250 ml bread crumbs
1 tbsp - 15 ml butter

In a large bowl; mix onion, macaroni, cheese,
water, salt, pepper and tomatoes. Pour into
greased casserole dish. Cover and bake in
preheated 350 F (180 C) oven for 1 hour.
Meanwhile, in a small skillet, melt butter over
medium heat. Add bread crumbs and cook,
stirring for 8 to 10 minutes or until crumbs are
lightly toasted.
Once casserole has baked for one hour, remove
lid and sprinkle crumbs over top. Return to
oven and place under broiler for 3 to 5 minutes
or until browned.
Serves 4
